Carolyn R Crampton
My small landscapes are painted outdoors, in one or a few sittings. I love nature but paint where it’s missing. I want to show how things really look in the everyday world. I paint all over but am fascinated by the geology and dramatic views of the Daly City / Pacifica area. I search for wildlife and old streams, earthquake faults and landslides around and underneath the urban sprawl. A rare bird or coyote-sighting influences my choice of view. I wonder how the wild animals manage to get by. Painter-friends joke about my painting anything that walks or flies by. I want the feel of a place. Sometimes I paint in the car which is a safe and unobtrusive way to work in urban areas, though it’s a little hard on the car. 415 810 4546
