Andrew Leone
My painting, printmaking and mixed media works are an exploration of an original, wordless connection to the natural world. This understanding winds its way through a territory of perceived opposites, whether they are called logic and intuition, realism and abstraction, order and chaos, or control and abandon. The self-organizing intelligence underlying all things, chaos seeking order, and the order in chaos, is a thematic thread; my work is a contemplation of how divergent elements cooperate, converse and ultimately inspire. My work has been widely exhibited throughout the Bay Area, California and Canada. I have a passion for the role art can play in building strong communities. This has led to several large public art and educational projects including glass & tile commissions, the Sanchez Community Mural, and the founding and development of the Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica. Studio 14 at Sanchez Art Center 1220 Linda Mar Blvd., Pacifica, Ca. 94044 (650) 359-2073
