Monica Maravelias I take nature personally. Living on the coast, I often watched the fog roll in off the Pacific Ocean and transform a sunny day into a foggy day in a matter of minutes. Most times, swirling clouds swooped in from the deep cold waters to strangle the warm light out of the day. At other times, tendrils of mist flayed in agony from the hot sun burning them back. In that perpetual battle at the boundary between sun and fog, I could see the universal quest to find balance in the world. The chaotic, unpredictable nature of the mist at the edge of the fog bank echoed the inevitable disorder of transitions.
