Statement:

My artistic interests are in the materials I use and the process involved in combining various media.  Paper collage, dry paint, oil and acrylics are layered over each othere, then sanded, scrubbed and sometimes totally removed from the surface of the painting, thereby revealing another aspect of the paintings’ history.  These paintings are expressions of my love for nature and are meant to be explorations of my memory and dreams as well as my psychological reality.

Bio:

Georgia Storti, a San Francisco native, studied at the San Francisco City College and has shown extensively throughout the Bay Area since 1990.  She’s received several awards for her work and is in collections in this country and in Europe.  She has also taught art in San Mateo and Oakland and had an Artist Studio Residency at the De Young Memorial Museum in 2000.
